Everything Apple announced at ‘It’s Show-Time’ Event

Apple Announced

Apple holds a strong foothold in the market, which further guarantees something more innovative and creative to be experienced with every official announcement made from Apple Inc. and this was further proven with ‘Show Time’ event.

This was the first ever services-centric event from Apple, where a larger pool of several new and upcoming service products was announced.

Where The Event Took Place?

Apple hosted it’s very first ‘Show Time’ event at the Steve Jobs Theater, Apple Park campus. Here Apple took the initiative to announce a myriad of services; Apple TV+, Apple Credit Card, Apple Arcade, and much more.

  • Apple News+

Apple News+ is designed specifically to offer access to users of hundreds of magazines.

Apple has launched the Apple News+ service, which allows the users to add magazines to the Apple News app.  This will include 300+ magazines, such as The New Yorker, Esquire, The Atlantic, National Geographic, Men’s Health, and Vogue.

“Apple News Plus will be the only place where you’ll be able to get all of them at once.”- stated by Apple

On an average pricing model, when the users buy these magazines separately, they cost more than $8,000 per year, but with the Apple News+, the price will be reduced to $9.99 per month.

Further, it would give the Apple News Plus subscription, wherein users will have the option of their own individual favourites and customizations. To make it more wonderful, Apple News+ is rolling out to the US and Canada, with the first month being absolutely FREE.

  • Apple Card

Before starting to explain further about this, let me tell you, that this is the centre of excellence of ‘Show Time’ event.

Apple Card is the Credit Card service from Apple, which aims to minimalize the complications of the credit card experience with much simpler applications, where no fee is involved, offers lower interest rates, and gives better rewards.

How users would avail it?

It consists of a very simple process, wherein users will have to sign up on their iPhone in the Apple Wallet app. On signing up, they will be allotted with a digital card, which can be used anywhere and the Apple Pay will be accepted within a fraction of minutes.

However, there shall be a physical titanium card as well, sans credit card number, CVV, expiration date, or signature. Rather every authorization information shall get stored directly in the Apple Wallet app.

What’s the wonder?

Well, interesting aspect here is that users are not going to earn the points-based reward program, but Apple Card will provide the cash back rewards in the form of Daily Cash, which can further be applied straight to the Apple Card to be spent or put toward the purchases.

Also, in the cashback, users will receive 3%, 2%, and 1% cashback on payments from Apple, made through Apple Pay, and through the physical card respectively.

The very existence of the Apple Card is made possible in partnership with Goldman Sachs.

Users can start using this from this summer. Just to update for any digital payments with Apple Pay can be made using the card, but for non-Apple Pay payments, Apple will let the users utilize the titanium card.

It also consists of unique budgeting and tracking tools for monitoring the spending along with support via the Messages app. Indeed it holds the charismatic approach and will change the game forever.

  • Apple Arcade


Apple Arcade is the new game subscription service from Apple. This subscription game service, allows the titles to be installed from the App Store. Surprisingly, Apple Arcade is supposed to bring critically acclaimed games to the App Store, further to spike the user-engagement factor, Apple shall be contributing to the development costs.

It is a new cross-platform subscription gaming service, which would offer access to 100 billion+ iOS games from publishers, like Disney, Sega, LEGO, Cartoon Network, Konami to name a few. Also, this service will be launched in 150+ countries. However, the cost of Apple Arcade has not to be disclosed yet, but it is expected that Apple Arcade subscription may consist of full access to all games and it shall bear no additional in-app purchases to unlock content.

  • Apple TV+


This was the last announcement made by Apple, where it launched its own video streaming service, called Apple TV+.  It will feature all of the company’s original TV content, eventually; Apple owns more than a dozen original shows from Steven Spielberg, J.J. Abrams, and Oprah.

To make it more exciting, Apple TV + would be AD-FREE, available on demand, and viewable both online and offline. It is supposed to get launched in 100+ countries. Apple has planned to launch it somewhere during Fall 2019, henceforth, there is no clue about the pricing.

Needless to say, but Apple TV+ app will be available on iOS devices, Apple TV, Mac (only in the fall) and Smart TVs – Sony, LG, Samsung, and Vizio. This will include the features built on machine learning, which would further have a new “Channels” feature, letting users subscribe and watch content from entertainment providers, such as Starz, Showtime, and HBO.

This all was announced at the ‘show time’ event, and to make it sound unique Apple has taken extra precaution to let every product to go AD-FREE, which would not disturb the consumption behaviour and the race-rope, will stay in the hands of Apple, not the marketers.
