How many times in a year, do you change your footwear? Maybe numerous time and the reasons are quite many…sometimes it’s a distant cousin’s wedding, office party, a new dress, you liked the footwear and a reason everyone can relate to is: your old shoe torn away and you decided to THROW…yes, it is one of the most obvious consequences occur to your favorite footwear, when you find no place to fit them in your shoe wardrobe, generally they end up in dumping bag. It sounds very normal to many and sounded to me even, till I came across an article on the internet yesterday…

A Noble Initiative of Shriyans & Ramesh- GreenSole

The article suggested a different approach and made me think of what all I have been doing these many years…The article was about GREENSOLE, an initiative started by Shriyans Bhandari and Ramesh Dhami. This social cause lets the people get their discarded shoes refurbished and given to poor people. Yes, you heard me right, those old torn running shoes, or that pair of unused and little chipped leather footwear from your official shoe wardrobe, even a sandal which ripped out of its sole last monsoon…these all shoes can bring a smile to a poor kid, who has never got a chance to wear a footwear, who has never felt the comfort of the shoe/slipper, but has always walked barefooted on the roads, whether it has been scorching heat 47 C to melt the charcoal on the road or the spine-shivering cold.

When I first read about the journey and the idea shared by Shriyans Bhandari and Ramesh Dhami, that how they come across this idea, really pulled me back on my chair and forced me to read every single piece of information available on the internet. After being inspired I got in touch with Team GreenSole on FB and praised them for their job done, and I was surprised soon they replied and invited us to be a part of their journey, for which I will always be glad to them and would be starting a drive in my office Techugo- a mobile app development company to support this cause in every possible way I can.

Also, I really liked the way the CEO of GreenSole Mr. Shriyans Bhandari replied and get connected with me on FB instantly. A true gentleman, with a higher international degree in his hands, chose to invest his intellects to carve a better future for underprivileged children across the nation.
